Avec ce projet, j’explorais comment la répétition d’un rituel créer pour la création d’un bâtiment pouvait avoir une plus grande signification que le bâtiment en soi. J’avais ainsi développé un processus où un individu devait s’occuper d’un bâtiment durant 27 ans avant qu’un autre prenne le relais. Dans ce projet, le rôle de l’architecte était redonné aux personnes responsables du bâtiment. Pour le projet, j’avais représenté 6 moments du même bâtiment sur une période de 500 ans. Ainsi, chaque moment était représenté en lien avec une des personnes responsables et le dessin était construit en accumulant des parties du moment précédent.

At 6 moments in time, the stone is given renewed meaning through the care taking of 6 personas who are invited to reinterpret their predecessor’s intent and built constructions.  Each caretaker’s will to build around the stone is mindlessly repeated, losing any original meaning to the monument, assuming there ever was one.   This fluidity of meaning produces an architecture that simply becomes the memory of a repeated process.  This project sought to question authorship by re-positioning the architect as a kind of conductor who relinquishes the traditional demonstration of control and imposed meaning.
